Betty is a Certified Public Accountant, a Certified Financial Examiner and a consultant to insurance companies, advising on regulatory matters and general management and operations. Prior to establishing her own consulting firm in 2007, Betty had extensive experience as an insurance regulator, serving the Texas Department of Insurance for 20 years. As Senior Associate Commissioner of the Financial Program, she reported directly to the Commissioner and oversaw insurance company incorporations and licensing, financial and market conduct examinations, financial analysis, actuarial analysis, rehabilitations and liquidations. Betty was heavily involved in the National Association of Insurance Commissioners, chairing many working groups and task forces involving state, national and international issues. She received the NAIC's 2002 Robert Dineen Award for outstanding service and contribution to the state regulation of insurance. She is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin with a B.B.A. in Accounting.
